Bring in a supported model. Cleave can read existing regions and materials, or let you paint regions yourself when color data is missing.
Split by color. Keyed to fit.
Cleave is a local-first 3D model splitting and fitting tool. Use existing color data when available, or paint regions directly on a model when it is not. Then split the model, create the connection you need, and export the pieces for whatever you're building.

Choose where pieces separate and how they reconnect. Use a peg, puzzle key, magnet pocket, or another fitting method.
Export the resulting parts for printing, game development, fabrication, prototyping, or whatever your project needs.
Friction-fit connection with configurable clearance. Simple, strong, and easy to understand.
Interlocking geometry built into the seam for self-aligning parts and optional adhesive.
Recessed pockets for magnets with built-in clearance, designed for removable assemblies.
Cleave is designed as a desktop application. The core workflow can run locally on your computer, so your model does not need to be uploaded to a cloud service just to be split.
Cleave is being updated so a model does not need existing color or material data. Paint regions directly on the model inside Cleave, then use those painted regions to define where the model should split.
Create modular pieces, break apart assets, and prepare components that need to connect.
Separate multicolor or oversized models into pieces and add physical alignment or locking features.
Prepare physical builds, prototypes, props, models, and assemblies with controlled connections.
Cleave is currently in development. When it is ready, it will be available free on Crazy Eyes Studio.
